Sponsorfinder has been appointed to run the 2010 sponsorship
campaign for the Beaufort Polo Club.
The Beaufort Polo Club plays a major role in the sport's
calendar, and on June 19th will showcase the very best in world polo when it
hosts one of just three International Test Matches to be held in the UK in
2010, an event which will be the subject of a one-hour TV programme on Sky
Sports and EuroSport channels.
This year the Beaufort Test Match is between England and The
Americas, followed by the England Ladies' Team versus a Young England Team. The
Beaufort Polo Club Country Fair and International Test Match (June 19th/20th)
will be an outstanding weekend of polo, attracting up to 5,000 visitors and
includes a charity match on the Sunday in aid of The Countryside Foundation for
Education.
Sponsorfinder has been tasked with securing title and supporting
sponsorship of the International Test Match and team sponsorship of the
Americas team, the England Ladies Team and the Young England Team, and for
other individual polo events and charity polo days at the Club. The Club is
also looking for sponsors for a number of specific elements of its high profile
activities such as time clocks, the spectator stand, umpires and the PA system.
Polo has enjoyed tremendous growth in recent years, with clubs
across the UK seeing a 47% increase in membership and a steady upturn in match
attendances over the last five years. 2.5 million people ride regularly within
the UK and 17.68 million have an interest in non-racing equestrian sport. Polo
has the highest AB audience of any sport, with patrons and players AB 72% and
C1 28% and spectators AB 59% and C1 31%.
"Polo allows sponsors to associate their brands with quality,
competitiveness and fair play via a sport which appeals to a significant AB
audience. And it's much more than a naming exercise - the matches provide
superb corporate hospitality opportunities - a chance to enjoy some outstanding
sport in a really convivial atmosphere - and fantastic possibilities for
product display," said Sponsorfinder Chairman Brian Hewitt.
The Beaufort Polo Club is home to the famous Tomlinson dynasty.
Claire Tomlinson was the highest handicapped female player in the history of
polo at five goals, and is now one of the world's top coaches. Luke, Claire's
eldest son, is Captain of the England team. Mark, his younger brother, also
plays for his country and their sister Emma is a polo playing vet who regularly
plays in the England Ladies team.
